Working Drawings are a critical part of the documentation process required before a Building Permit can be issued. There are two common scenarios where Working Drawings are essential:​

• Following Town Planning Approval

Once your Town Planning Permit and Endorsed Plans have been obtained, Working Drawings and other necessary document are required to progress your project to the next stage to secure a Building Permit.

• For Single Dwellings or Renovations

If you're planning to build a single home on your land or undertake a renovation to your existing property, Working Drawings are needed to provide your builder and certifier with precise construction details. A new and interesting sample is Small Second Dwelling(SSD) where you can propose a new dwelling in your backyard with the size of 60sqm max without needing Town planning permit. You can legally rent out this property but it cannot be subdivided hence unable to have its own separate land Title (other conditions from Council applies).
